Since its launch in 2000, The Big Draw has championed the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression, and innovation. By taking part, you become part of a global movement that promotes creativity, wellbeing, and visual literacy.

When is it? Sunday 30 November, 2025 from 11am – 4pm
Where is it? Central Park, East Malvern (148 Burke Rd, Malvern East VIC 3145)
What is it? Think… a big picnic in the park with guided and unguided drawing activities. There will be programmed workshops to sign up for, collaborative art pieces you can join in all day, plus unguided drawing activities that you can complete on the day.
How do I join? No RSVP needed for unguided events, just show up on the day! To register for programmed events, please register above!
How much? FREE!
Who is it for? The Big Draw Festival is for anyone who loves to draw, as well as those who think they can’t! We welcome all abilities and ages!

All materials are provided – you don’t need to bring anything except yourself and your seat of choice - grass? picnic rug? chair?
Refreshments will be available – we’ve got Freddy’s Pizza coming along – and there’s a bunch of great cafes and restaurants just across the road. Or bring yourself a delicious picnic lunch!
Don’t love drawing? Don’t worry about it, just come along anyway. It will be a vibe!
You don’t need to book in to most of the unstructured events but when we list the programmed events, you will need to sign up as numbers will be limited. Links above to register.
